INTERNATIONAL HYDROGEN STRATEGIES

Hydrogen (H2) can play a significant role in a future energy system based on renewable energies. As an important link, it enables the use of intermittently generated renewable wind and solar energy by energy consumers who currently use chemical energy carriers in large quantities to convert them into electricity or heat.

Against this background, the world’s major economic nations are currently discussing possible options for action, preparing corresponding measures and adopting targeted hydrogen strategies.
