ENERGY IN AUSTRIA

The brochure “Energy in Austria 2022” published by the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) contains current energy industry data and information on the individual sectors of the energy industry from energy production to energy consumption, based on the preliminary data of Statistics Austria 2021. With the help of the energy flow diagram, complex interrelationships from energy production and energy import to conversion processes and final energy use in the most essential sectors of the national economy are presented.

The government programme 2020-2024 set clear targets in the field of renewable energy by 2030: 100% renewable electricity and 5 terawatt hours (TWh) of renewable gas. The brochure “Energy in Austria 2022” shows the concrete current status for these targets according to the respective target definition.
